NEWS | The University of the Philippines will host consultative meeting with Bangsamoro Transition Authority and stakeholders

DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur — The University of the Philippines will host a consultation with the Bangsamoro Transition Authority officials and stakeholders at the Dusit Thani Residences Davao on 13 September. Participants include the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) government officials, Local Government Units (LGUs), development NGOs, and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in BARMM. They will discuss opportunities for collaboration that would improve the socio-economic conditions in the Bangsamoro region and Mindanao.

 

The event will precede the investiture of UP President Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez at the UP Mindanao Atrium on 14 September, and the 1st UP-SUC Summit on 15 September.

 

UP is offering its expertise, facilities, and programs in its constituent universities. Among the academic and research institutions involved in the program are the UP Resilience Institute, UP National Center for Transportation Studies, UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies, UP National College of Public Administration and Governance, UP Manila National Institutes of Health, UP Cebu Center for Environmental Informatics, UP Mindanao Center for Advancement for Research in Mindanao, UP Los Baños National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Philippine Genome Center, UP Institute of Islamic Studies, UP Baguio Cordillera Studies Center, UP Mindanao Studies Center, and UP Office for Initiatives in Culture and Arts.

 

The program will have an Advisory Board with members from both UP and BARMM.
