The UP Law Office of Legal Aid (OLA) was established to provide free legal services to poor and disadvantaged clients. Legal assistance provided includes representation in judicial, quasi-judicial (administrative) bodies, in criminal, civil and administrative cases, contract drafting, assistance in negotiation involving security of their homes and persons, mediation, and arbitration to put an end to litigation. OLA also provides legal opinion on various legal issues.

These technical advice, information and expertise are provided in support of the scientific studies of students from secondary and tertiary educational institutions, the functions of government and research institutions and quality assurance and research and development programs of the industry.

The Center was established to provide data and information on the scientific basis of climate change and disaster risk reduction and management. Specifically, it provides expertise and technical assistance on mainstreaming climate change adaptation and disaster risk-reduction and management (CCA/DRRM) in the curricular programs of the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), as well as in integrating CCA-DRRM in the local development plans of Local Government Units (LGUs).
