FN 125 Diet Therapy I (Medical Nutrition Therapy)

Objective:

With the guidance of the faculty-in-charge (FIC), this course guides students in assessing the dietary needs of a patient/client in need of dietary intervention. They formulate diet plans (with the guidance of the FIC who is a registered nutritionist-dietitian) and implement the diet plans with the patients and/or clients. They also monitor and evaluate the diet therapy.


Duration / Date:

Usually from April to May, near the end of the second semester


Target / Beneficiaries:

Those who are in need of nutrition counselling (e.g., diabetics, hypertensives, overweight patients, to name a few) as referred by the college staff and their relatives, and by the College of Allied Medical Professions of UP Manila
