Gawad Pangulo sa Natatanging Serbisyo Publiko

The Gawad Pangulo sa Natatanging Serbisyo Publiko aims to effect meaningful change across the UP System by identifying, supporting, and scaling impactful public service programs that deliver tangible benefits to communities and demonstrate the University’s role as a premier public service university.

UP units, personnel, and student organizations which implemented public service initiatives from 01 January 2022 to 30 June 2025 may be nominated.

Public service initiatives shall have already made significant contributions or impacts within the said period.

The awarding will be on June 2026 during the Buwan ng Unibersidad.

Who can submit a nomination?

The following are eligible to submit a nomination:

  • UP Units (includes employee organizations/associations)
  • Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS)
  • Faculty
  • Administrative Staff
  • Student Organizations

whose public service initiatives (programs, projects, activities or PPAs) are associated, implemented and reported with the University of the Philippines Constituent University.

What public service initiatives can be nominated?
  • Must be launched from 01 January 2022 to 30 June 2025
  • Primary implementer must be a representative of UP, especially for collaborative public service initiatives
  • Must be clear of any ethical or legal violations
  • Must have clearance from their respective accounting offices
How many programs can be nominated?
  • There is no limit to the number of nominations
  • Institutions and individuals can be nominated multiple times with different public service initiatives
What are the requirements for the nomination?
  • Nomination form
  • Project proposal
  • Project documentation
  • [For student organizations] Certificate of Recognition from your CU’s Office of Student Affairs (OSA)
  • [For faculty] Faculty Service Record/U.P. Form 67
  • [For REPS] REPS Service Record (RSR)
  • (Optional) Public recognition/award, formal policy/policy recommendation, published report/documentation, etc.
  • (Once Shortlisted) A 2 to 5-minute explainer video which should describe the initiative, including its significant contributions.
What is an explainer video and its prescribed guidelines?
  • The explainer video is only required once a public service initiative is shortlisted. This means that nominated public service initiatives are no longer required to submit an explainer video in their initial nomination until contacted via email as part of the shortlist.
  • The explainer video should describe the initiative, including its significant contributions.
  • The following is needed for the explainer video:
    • Length: 2 to 5 minutes only
    • Orientation: Landscape
    • Camera: Any
    • Quality: ≥ 1920 x 1080p
    • Format: .mp4
