NEWS | Five faculty members from UP Diliman were included in this year’s Top 100 Asian Scientists

UP DILIMAN — Five faculty members from UP Diliman were included in this year’s Top 100 Asian Scientists.

 

The honorees include four faculty members from the UPD College of Science (CS) and one from the UPD College of Engineering (COE). Among them are Mario Juan A. Aurelio, Ph.D. and Gil S. Fernando, Ph.D. of the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS); Pia D. Bagamasbad, Ph.D. of the National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (NIMBB); Aletta T. Yñiguez, Ph.D. of the Marine Science Institute (MSI); and Rinlee Butch M. Cervera, Ph.D. of the COE Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering (DMMME). Aurelio, Fernando, and Yñiguez were recognized in the environmental sciences discipline while Bagamasbad and Cervera were selected for biomedical sciences and engineering, respectively.

 

The Asian Scientist 100 is an annual listing of researchers, academicians, and innovators from the Asia-Pacific region, published by the Singapore-based Asian Scientist Magazine.
