ILOILO City, Iloilo Province —  The University of the Philippines Visayas met with Rare Philippines and Rare Global Operations at the Center for West Visayan Studies (CWVS), UPV Iloilo City Campus on 16 August. The meeting discussed the results of the projects and programs implemented, in line with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Rare and UP Visayas College of Fisheries last year.

The meeting also explored possible engagements with the UPV Center for West Visayan Studies, UPV Office of Continuing Education, UPV Pahinungod and the UP Extension Campus in Antique (UPECA) amid the launching of programs in Antique and the implementation of the Project on Coastal Protection and Management. Training programs for fisherfolk will also start in September at the UPECA.
