ILOILO City — The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development –Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD) and the University of the Philippines Visayas through the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanology (UPV-CFOS-IMFO) collaborated in organizing the second Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) convention from 29 to 30 June in Park Inn Hotel, Iloilo City

A fish census commonly involves divers swimming along a transect line, usually marked by a plastic cord, and visually counting and identifying the fish species that they encounter. This painstaking process requires trained experts and highly knowledgeable divers to accurately record data on species, size, and abundance.

MIAGAO, Iloilo — The University of the Philippines (UPV), through the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences – Institute of Aquaculture (CFOS-IA), signed a collaborative research agreement with Trading Room, Inc. for the project “Development of Immunoactive and Growth Promoting AquaFeed Additive from Ulva Seaweed” (UPV-DOST Ulva Seaweed CRADLE Project) at the UPV Fisheries Technology and Business Incubator building, Miagao campus, on 5 July.
