Objective:
These training workshops aim to create awareness among DA and LGU technicians and cassava farmers about the varying levels of cyanide in the different varieties of cassava.
Specifically, these workshops are intended to create awareness among DA and LGU technicians and cassava farmers that the cyanide content in cassava can be analyzed in the field using the Cassava Cyanide Color Wheel Test Kit. It trains DA and LGU technicians how to properly use the Cassava Cyanide Color Wheel Test Kit, and in turn, encourage cassava farmers, through DA and LGU technicians, to propagate low- cyanide cassava varieties to reduce, if not totally eliminate, incidence of acute or chronic cassava cyanide poisoning.
Lastly, it seeks to recommend to cassava consumers, through the DA and LGU technicians, ways of reducing cyanide content in cassava.
