The University of the Philippines Padayon Public Service Office, Office of Faculty Regent, and All UP Academic Employees Union (AUPAEU) are hosting the first-ever Public Service Summit at the ITDC Conference Room, Vidal A. Tan Hall, UP Diliman, from May 30 to 31, 2024.
The 2024 Public Service Summit is not just a platform for collaboration, innovation, and collective action but also a unique opportunity for shaping the future of public service in UP. It marks the beginning of a series of consultative meetings and conversations about public service, where the voices of UP faculty, staff, and REPS will be heard, valued, and acted upon.
This two-day activity will serve as a platform for sharing best practices, institutionalizing public service in existing arrangements and processes on promotion and tenure, and fostering collaboration among public service institutions and organizations in UP. Faculty members and representatives from Ugnayan ng Pahinungod, AUPAEU, and other public service units and offices in different UP CUs have been invited to attend.
The discussions will be further enriched by the presence of the Summit’s esteemed plenary speakers: 2024 Gawad Tandang Sora Awardee and former UP Diliman College of Social Work and Community Development Faculty Judy M. Taguiwalo, Ph.D., UP Manila Urban Community Based Health Program Division Head Edelina P. Dela Paz, M.D., and UP Baguio Institute of Management Director Erlinda C. Palaganas, Ph.D., RN, FAAN.
This event is also in partnership with the Office of the UP President, the Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the All UP Academic Employees Union—Manila Chapter.
