The University of the Philippines Padayon Public Service Office held its 2nd UPskilling Program last 18 October, with a seminar on online feature writing facilitated by Assistant Professor Ronin Bautista of the UP Diliman Department of Broadcast Communication.  The seminar aims to provide the Padayon staff with an opportunity to further develop their skills in writing and storytelling. 

MAKATI CITY — The University of the Philippines Manila College of Public Health (UP-CPH) and the UP National College for Public Administration and Governance joined the Zuellig Family Foundation (ZFF) in honoring the memory of its founding chair Roberto R. Romulo during the launching of the Roberto  R. Romulo Fellowship for Public Health and Governance. 

DILIMAN, Quezon City — The University of the Philippines Diliman College of Engineering and the UPD National Engineering Center, in partnership with MERALCO Power Academy, discussed the potential of nuclear energy for the Philippines during the i-conNECt on the Potential of Nuclear Energy (Small Modular Reactor) for Energy Sustainability and Security (Potential of Nuclear Energy) at the NEC Audiovisual Room on 14 September. 

ORIENTAL MINDORO, Philippines — Researchers from the University of the Philippines Los Baños Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Integrated Natural Resource and Environment Management (UPLB-INREM) conducted fieldwork in Calapan City and the municipalities of Pola and Gloria, Oriental Mindoro on 13-22 August, to assess the damage caused by the 800,000 liter oil spill from MV Princess Empress which sank off the province’s coast. 

LIGAO CITY, Philippines — The University of the Philippines Los Baños Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Integrated Natural Resources and Environment Management (UPLB-INREM) and the UP Resilience Institute (UPRI) facilitated a project proposal planning session on resilience-building for the Quinali A watershed at the Office of the Mayor of Ligao City on 5 September.
