LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — The University of the Philippines Los Baños launched the UPLB Risk, Emergency, and Disaster-Ready (READY) program during its celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month last July 12. UPLB READY aims to inform, capacitate, and prepare the UPLB community, aligned with the goal of future-proofing the University.
The celebration was kicked off by a comprehensive fire safety seminar for building administrators by the UPLB Security and Safety Office, followed by an earthquake and fire drill for employees and student. The seminar and drill both instilled knowledge of fire prevention, response, and evacuation procedures, and the appropriate safety protocols during seismic events and fire accidents, respectively.
