The Security and Safety Office (SSO) under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs paid a courtesy visit to Cynthia N. Quintans, chief of the Los Baños Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (LB MDRRMO) on July 8.
The meeting sought to coordinate activities for National Disaster Resilience Month that would strengthen the disaster resilience and future-proofing initiatives of UPLB.
Among the topics discussed during the visit are possible collaborations between LB MDRRMO and UPLB SSO in the form of information sharing, incident command system training, and other disaster prevention activities.
SSO was led by Special Police Assistant Chief Jonathan D. Maliwat, Section Chief of SSO’s Crisis and Emergency Response Unit and Dr. Mark Dondi M. Arboleda, who was sworn in as the new Officer-in-Charge of SSO on June 15.
The month of July was declared as National Disaster Resilience Month through Executive Order No. 29, 2017. It is observed annually throughout the country.
