This program helped in providing and formulating planning, architectural and engineering design guidelines for disaster-resilient communities, sites and buildings. Specifically, it provided technical assistance through design and research services, in order to formulate research-based planning, architectural and engineering guidelines for areas and buildings of different scales—houses, schools, evacuation centers, communities, cities and municipalities.

This program helped in the formulating and planning of architectural and engineering design guidelines for foreign service post buildings (e.g. embassies) of the Republic of the Philippines in other countries. Specifically, it provided technical assistance through design and research services, in order to formulate research-based architectural and engineering guidelines for Philippine embassies.

This project seeks to address the need for a performance-based approach to teaching of the Grade 8 Asian Music and Arts curriculum in the K to 12 program by facilitating the understanding of the salient features of Asian music and art. It seeks to do this by providing music and arts teachers the necessary skills needed for performance-based approach to teaching Traditional Asian Theatre practice—from training-rehearsal to performance by systematically learning their performance process, practice and principles.

This seminar series aims to provide a venue for the discussion of relevant issues in the context of journalism in particular and communication in general. Launched in 2007, the series focused on topics ranging from the challenges of journalism practice in the Philippines, investigative journalism, data journalism, visual storytelling, to the culture of impunity.

Since 1996, the UPLB CAS LITE Program, through the IEIGS, has been helping UPLB international graduate students attain the required linguistic competency to hurdle academic life in the university, Participants learn through the modules Pronunciation Improvement and Oral Presentation (40 hours), Reading and Vocabulary Enrichment (40 hours), Grammar (30 hours), and Academic Writing (40 hours) in this intensive course.

Since 2000, the UPLB CAS LITE Program has been helping UPLB international graduate and undergraduate students improve their basic English language proficiency through the English Plus Course.

The English Plus Course is a three- to four-week course that covers two areas—Pronunciation Improvement and Oral Presentation, and Conversational Fluency. It is supplemented by a two-hour daily guided interaction and a cultural exposure trip within the University of the Philippines Los Baños and the International Rice Research Institute, including a whole-day trip to the different towns in the province of Laguna.
