The University of the Philippines, through the Padayon Public Service Office of the Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs, has extended the Call for Applications to the 3rd Public Service Writing Fellowship until May 31, 2021. The application form, along with other pertinent documents, may be downloaded from http://bit.ly/3rdPSWF-App and submitted to [email protected].
The Public Service Writing Fellowship is one of the regular programs of the Padayon Public Service Office that fulfills the mandate of the University to provide programs and initiatives that aid the government, private sector, and civil society, and share and disseminate research that documents the best practices and models of engagement to other higher education institutions and stakeholders. Through an interdisciplinary thrust, the Fellowship serves as the institutional support system that encourages and incentivizes the scholarship of public service that will make the University’s initiatives sustainable for the beneficiaries, institutional partners, and other stakeholders.
All UP faculty, staff, and research, extension, and professional staff (REPS) who wish to write about and publish the design, implementation, and results of their public service initiatives in a scholarly publication may join the Public Service Writing Fellowship. Eight (8) Fellows will be selected to undergo a virtual Writeshop on July 22-23, 2021, where they will be developing their output with the help of facilitators and their peers, and receive a grant of PhP 30,000.00. It is expected that the Fellows will be improving their papers after the Writeshop, submit a 7000-word manuscript to the journal of their interest, and provide the Padayon Public Service Office with the manuscript copy and acknowledgement receipt from the journal. They will receive their grants in three tranches:
- Upon signing of the Memorandum of Agreement
