Health care organizations need to manage organizational change effectively to survive and thrive in today’s rapidly changing global economy. Organizational change is inevitable across a wide range of health care organizations—from small healthcare facilities to large, complex, state-of-the-art corporations, including government and non-government, profit and non-profit organizations. This course is geared towards the continuing education of health care institution executives. OD also compliments strategic planning; it’s an important tool in managing and planning organizational growth.

This activity provides rehabilitation services to communities of persons-with-disabilities. The UP Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, together with the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine (PARM), previously conducted missions with the Ministry on Persons with Disabilities (PWD) at the Santuario del Santo Cristo Parish, San Juan City on October 2013 and September 2015.

This program seeks to provide free consultancy services to those whose access to healthcare, particularly physical therapy (PT), are limited. Under this faculty-led program, faculty and PT students work together to plan for and implement consultancy activities for various populations. Aside from its service component, students are also trained on the consultation process of PT through this program.

Organizations in the health sector routinely deploy projects, either to pilot an initiative or to support existing programs and policies. The central, but elusive, aim of completing a project on-target, on time and on budget rests primarily on having a competent manager equipped with the necessary knowledge, tools, and techniques for this purpose. This course teaches managers or associates the essentials of such management principles and techniques.
