UP ISSI conducted a seminar for the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) at the First Pacific Leadership Academy in Antipolo City, last January 30-31, 2023. Thirty-four participants joined the program which was handled by the program team from the Training and Entrepreneurship Education Division composed of the program manager, Ms. Sendy delos Reyes and program coordinator, Mr. Romy Estrella.

The Asian Society of Labour Law (AsianSLL) held a Special Conference in Manila last 16-17 December 2022, with the theme “Labour Rights in the New Normal”. The Conference was organized in cooperation with the Workers and Employees Program (WEP), University of the Philippines College of Law/Law Center. Labour law practitioners, academics, experts, and law students from all over Asia attended physically in the Malcolm Theater and Bocobo Hall, both in the UP Law Complex, Diliman, Quezon City, and virtually via Zoom Webinar.
Built in a local university setting, the two cube satellites were designed and developed by the first batch of scholars under the Space Space Science and Technology Proliferation through University Partnerships (STeP-UP) project of the STAMINA4Space Program.
As such, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OVCAA) issued a directive that recognizes the inclusion of and affirms transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) students. Memorandum No. OVCAA-MTTP 21-029 recommends the UP Center for Women’s and Gender Studies (UPCWGS) guidelines on affirming TGNC students’ names, pronouns, and titles. According to the UPCGWS guidelines, TGNC refers to people whose gender identity does not match their sex assigned at birth and those whose gender expression does not match their gender identity, respectively.
In partnership with the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP MSI), the project launched on July 7 also aims to educate and empower students and communities to practice environmental sustainability through a more science-driven approach to ocean research.

Electric tricycle and electric vehicle (EV) drivers and owners in Quezon City (QC) now have three additional places to charge their vehicles on the road, with the inauguration of a network of rapid-charging stations for EVs in three locations in QC.
The QC Solar Electric Vehicle Charging Network is composed of three rapid electric vehicle charging – Charging in Minutes (CharM) fast-charging stations located at key points in QC where electric vehicles (EVs) such as electric scooters and e-trikes can charge for free.
