CTP is a non-degree training for Tertiary and Secondary Mathematics Teachers in the region. Conducted once a year, this one- week training is organized in collaboration with another higher education institution (HEI) in Northern Luzon.

KaSaMa Teachers Online Community was conceived as a strategy to bridge the gap between UP NISMED and the Filipino science and mathematics education community, with the goal of improving science and mathematics education in the country. KaSaMa Teachers stands for an online bayanihan driven by a genuine desire to support and empower teachers, hence the tagline “An online community of science and mathematics educators who strive for excellence through innovation and collaboration”.
This lectures seek to update science and mathematics teachers, administrators, educators, students, and the general public on the latest trends and innovations in science and mathematics education.
The stargazing activities are offered by UP NISMED to groups of 50 to 100 students upon request of the school/organization. It seeks to provide opportunity for students and teachers to understand Earth and Space Science topics using telescopes by conducting lectures right under the night sky. It also allows students and teachers to observe astronomical phenomena such as eclipse and meteor showers.
By the end of this course, participants are expected to have acquired knowledge on the basic principles of instrumentation and control. They must have also learned to appreciate and be aware of the value of instrumentation and control in industrial operations. Participants will learn of the proper techniques and guidelines in the proper selection, maintenance and troubleshooting of measurement and control instruments and their components, as well as how to evaluate and update existing controls and measurement systems in their plants.
The Breakthroughs in Mathematics is a one- to two-day seminar, wherein one or two prominent local or foreign resource persons are invited to share their knowledge on the latest breakthroughs in mathematics and information technology. They are also encouraged to share their present research work, so participants can build linkages with them. Participants are the faculty, MS students, graduating BS Math majors of UPB, and interested tertiary mathematics teachers and researchers.
This training aims to introduce planners to the concepts and approaches to basic GIS. It includes demonstration of the use of spatial data in land use planning; the application of techniques in spatial analysis for land use planning; and the application of geospatial tools in thematic mapping for land use planning.
This short course provides an overview of the whole continuum of management, with emphasis on project management. It is intended to provide middle-level health care professionals basic as well as practical knowledge on how to formulate a project and how to manage a project. Their competencies will be enhanced through the different practical workshops, particularly those pertaining to case analysis, problem identification, decision-making and prioritization, project planning and implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The course is designed to serve as basic reference for health care professionals interested in project management and/or general management fundamentals.
Sensory attributes of food are very essential parameters to measure and ensure the quality of food, especially among food industries. At the end of the activity, participants are expected to conduct discriminatory, acceptability, and preference tests, as well as be able to analyze data and make conclusions based on the result of the sensory evaluation test.
This seminar aims to provide food handlers with basic knowledge on how hazardous elements can be prevented from getting into the food and thus, offer safe food for families and the public.
