Objective:
Through the conduct of trainings on development journalism, the department aims to share with students and teachers alike the basic principles of development journalism and help them apply these principles in their storytelling. Participants are encouraged to write stories of local relevance and to promote the practice of development journalism among their peers.
The trainings had evolved to teach not just students but also individuals not engaged in academic activities, such as government employees and sectoral representatives. The activity has served to empower them to write about issues that are rarely present in mainstream reporting.
