UPLB will be holding the 3rd International Conference on Energy and Environmental Economics (ENERCON 2022) on July 28-29.

The virtual conference will be organized by the Department of Economics under the College of Economics and Management and will have the theme, “Harnessing sustainable energy and ensuring resilient environments toward economic recovery.”

It will showcase papers from local and foreign universities and research institutions and will cover topics on sustainable development, economy-environment linkages, environment and energy policy, and natural resource valuation and management.

With the University of the Philippines (UP) at the helm of providing various forms of public service, the nation moves even closer towards being a place for Filipinos to thrive and prosper. Nine mango varieties and selections were unveiled at a press conference of the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) on June 8, 2022.

The mangoes were identified by the Institute of Plant Breeding (IPB) in the University of Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) through a program funded by PCAARRD and led by plant breeding scientist Carolyn Alcasid.

The Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-IA) shared knowledge on basics of aquaculture to senior high school (SHS) teachers of Leganes National High School, Leganes, Iloilo on May 17, 2022.
