DAVAO CITY, Davao del Sur — The University of the Philippines will host a consultation with the Bangsamoro Transition Authority officials and stakeholders at the Dusit Thani Residences Davao on 13 September. Participants include the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) government officials, Local Government Units (LGUs), development NGOs, and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in BARMM. They will discuss opportunities for collaboration that would improve the socio-economic conditions in the Bangsamoro region and Mindanao. 

TAGAYTAY CITY, Cavite — UP Padayon Senior Project Assistant Dishan Joy Pilar participated in the first UP Systemwide Administrative and Research, Extension, and Professional Staff (REPS) Conference in Tagaytay City, hosted by the UP Office of the Staff Regent with the UP Office of the Vice President for Administration.

DILIMAN, Quezon City —  The University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) held its GABAy Open House Mentoring Program, as part of its anniversary celebration, from 29-31 August.

ILOILO City, Iloilo Province —  The University of the Philippines Visayas Balay Balay Child Minding Center (BBCMC) conducted a Parents’ Orientation at the College of Management rooms, UPV Iloilo City campus last 18 August. The orientation was attended by parents, guardians, and caregivers of children admitted to BBCMC Iloilo City and Miagao campuses. 

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna —  Thirty frontliners and professionals from various units of the University of the Philippines Los Baños participated in the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence seminar held at the Training Center for Tropical Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability (TREES) Training Hall on 15 August. 

MIAGAO, Iloilo — The University of the Philippines Visayas School of Technology (SOTECH) and SEPAR Environmental Corporation signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last 15 August at the New SOTECH Building, UPV, Miagao, Iloilo. 

LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — The University of the Philippines Open University launched Openg, the university’s chatbot for the UPOU Massive Open Distance eLearning (MODeL) platform, during the 1st International Symposium on Education and AI Convergence (ISEAC) of the UPOU-organized Tri-conference 2023, on 23 August.

MIAGAO, Iloilo — The University of the Philippines Visayas Office of Student Affairs (UPV-OSA) gave an orientation to 144 incoming students and transferees of the University, together with 272 parents and guardians last 15 August at the UPV Covered Court, Miagao campus.

ILOILO City, Iloilo Province —  The University of the Philippines Visayas met with Rare Philippines and Rare Global Operations at the Center for West Visayan Studies (CWVS), UPV Iloilo City Campus on 16 August.

QUEZON CITY, Philippines, August 22 — The University of the Philippines Padayon Public Service Office, under the Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs, welcomes nine (9) Padayon Fellows selected for the 4th Public Service Writing Fellowship (PSWF). They will participate in the Public Service Writeshop at Hotel Vivo in Baguio City from August 31 to September 1, 2023.
