Ang Salinán ay gawain ng SWF na nakatuon sa pagtataguyod ng isang masiglang programa ng pagsasalin. Naglalayon itong isulong ang paggamit ng Filipino sa iba’t ibang larang ng kaalaman. Layunin din nitong isalin ng mga babasahin sa iba’t ibang disiplina sa pamamagitan ng Aklatang Bayan.
Pinagtibay at ipinatupad sa UP noong 1989 ang isang Patakarang Pangwika na nagtatakda na Filipino ang maging pangunahing midyum ng pagtuturo. Binuo ang programang Aklatang Bayan para magsulat at maglimbag sa wikang Filipino ng mga aklat sa iba’t ibang disiplina. Layuning din nitong magbuo at maglathala ng mga teksbuk sa Filipino, tumugon sa kakulangan ng mga akademikong materyal na nasa Filipino, at makapaglathala ng makabuluhan at mahusay na mga teksbuk at mga babasahing aklat sa Filipino.

This service was first provided in the late 1990s and spurred by the dismal performance of takers in the ID Board Exam. The former dean challenged the faculty to improve the rating, hence the mock board exam.
The general objective of ID 179 is for students to acquire a clear understanding of the rigors of managing an actual interior design project, which include the programming phase to feedback and post-occupancy evaluation, marketing and project cost analysis. Furthermore, it aims to cultivate a deep appreciation for service learning through an organized project that can benefit any institution.
