This seminar is a two- to three-hour activity conducted among high school and college students to increase their awareness of the cooperative movement. Participants are provided with basic knowledge of cooperatives. It is a part of the public service of ICOPED conducted in selected educational institutions in Los Baños and in other municipalities by request.

The Ugnayan sa Pamayanan ng College of Home Economics is a program initiated by the UP College of Home Economics in cooperation with Habitat For Humanity Philippines and the Quezon City Local Government Unit. It seeks “to institutionalize the conduct of service learning activities of the faculty, students, and staff, through selected courses such as HE 100…and Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), among others, and through individual extension service activities, thus enabling the academic institution and the movement to continuously improve the lives of Filipino families and society.” (Quoted from the Memorandum of Agreement confirmed by the BOR on October 2015)

The technical assistance and advisory services of the ICOPED are in line with the policy of the State that all departments, branches, subdivisions and instrumentalities of the Government shall promote the formation of cooperatives through appropriate and suitable incentives.
