LOS BAÑOS, Laguna — Incoming first-year UPLB students completed 4-week Bridge Program of the University of the Philippines Los Baños Learning Resource Center from 10 July to 10 August.

The Bridge Program (BP) aims to bridge gaps between the skills learned in high school and the skills needed in university.

BP was conducted in a blended learning mode, in which the majority of classes were held onsite. Students attended mathematics and/or English classes, psychosocial sessions, and LIFE (Leadership, Integrity, Faith, and Excellence) class sessions. Faculty-tutors from the Math Division of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Physics, and the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, both from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and the College of Development Communication (CDC) facilitated the classes. Psychosocial sessions were held in coordination with the Guidance Services Specialist of the Office of Counseling and Guidance (OCG) of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Youth volunteers from Every Nation Campus-UPLB facilitated the LIFE sessions.

A recognition ceremony was held on 10 August at the REDREC Auditorium to award students with their certificates of completion and recognize the top-performing students for each section. The faculty-tutors, facilitators, and volunteers were also acknowledged in the ceremony.
