The University of the Philippines Manila College of Dentistry (UPCD) opened a dental facility designed as a venue to ramp up the oral health status of Filipinos through advanced learning, training, research, and comprehensive oral care.
Experts from the Institute of Aquaculture (IA), UPV-CFOS, namely IA director Prof. Dr. Rex Ferdinand M. Traifalgar, Asst. Prof. Dr. Carmelo del Castillo, and Mr. Fredson Huervana had a consultative meeting with members of the Barangay Dos Talabahan Owners Association (BDTOA) from Ilog, Negros Occidental last February 4, 2023. BDTOA is an association of oyster farmers with 37 members.
UP ISSI conducted a seminar for the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH) at the First Pacific Leadership Academy in Antipolo City, last January 30-31, 2023. Thirty-four participants joined the program which was handled by the program team from the Training and Entrepreneurship Education Division composed of the program manager, Ms. Sendy delos Reyes and program coordinator, Mr. Romy Estrella.
The Security and Safety Office (SSO) conducted a gamified training session in campus disaster preparedness for personnel of the UPLB Gender Center and Business Affairs Office on Jan. 30.
The state-of-the-art facility will equip dental health professionals with advanced training, in-depth research, and provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary services to patients. The COH is realized with the generous support of the LT Group, Inc. and Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc., through the stewardship of UPCD immediate past Dean Dr. Danilo L. Magtanong and the initiatives of Assistant Professor Dr. Arnon L. Rivera as the Project Proponent.
The UPV Action Research Project (UPV ARP), in collaboration with the Department of Education – Schools Division of Silay City (DepEd – SDO Silay City), conducted an Orientation-Workshop on Assessment Strategies, Innovation and Research Development among Junior High School (JHS) teachers teaching Science, Mathematics, Araling Panlipunan, and Technology and Livelihood Education subjects on 12-13 January 2023 at Natures Village Resort, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The University of the Philippines Visayas, through the Gender and Development Program (GDP) together with the Ugsad Regional Gender Resource Network, joined the observance of the 2022 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (EVAW) from November 25 to December 12. Various activities were initiated within the campaign period in line with the theme, “UNiTEd for a VAW-free Philippines.”
