Dr.  Mary Jane Apines-Amar and Ms. Lily Anne Piñosa of the Institute of Aquaculture, UPV-CFOS, went for a 6-day official business trip to WPU for the project implementation and promotion of the green mussel spat production technology in Palawan. 

UPV and WPU signed a memorandum of agreement last May 25, 2022 to cooperatively work together on this project. Dr. Amar spearheads the project on behalf of UPV-CFOS. 

The Security and Safety Office (SSO) under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs paid a courtesy visit to Cynthia N. Quintans, chief of the Los Baños Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (LB MDRRMO) on July 8.

The meeting sought to coordinate activities for National Disaster Resilience Month that would strengthen the disaster resilience and future-proofing initiatives of UPLB.

“To solve the country’s public transportation problem, a University of the Philippines document called on the national government to unify governance on public transportation and include small operators and commuters in the modernization program,” the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Task Force on a Blueprint for Building the Nation said in a recent statement.

UPLB will be holding the 3rd International Conference on Energy and Environmental Economics (ENERCON 2022) on July 28-29.

The virtual conference will be organized by the Department of Economics under the College of Economics and Management and will have the theme, “Harnessing sustainable energy and ensuring resilient environments toward economic recovery.”

It will showcase papers from local and foreign universities and research institutions and will cover topics on sustainable development, economy-environment linkages, environment and energy policy, and natural resource valuation and management.
