Dar particularly cited the ongoing collaboration among the NMIS, Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development, University of the Philippines Los Baños, and the Bureau of Animal Industry to develop a digital traceability system for meat products.

“ACTI(on) Research Project stands for Assistance, Collaborations, Trainings, and Other Interventions (ACTI) on Research. It is a public service initiative aiming to improve the basic education outcomes through research-related extension activities,” explained Mx. John Bert C. Tutisura, one of the Project Managers.

The Project is a collaboration among faculty members, staff, and students of the College of Arts and Sciences, specifically co-headed by the Division of Professional Education and the Community Outreach Program/BIDANI (COP/BIDANI). 

To promote awareness on mental health concerns and provide intervention to combat these issues, the Office of Counseling and Guidance (OCG) is going to conduct the 5th university-wide forum on depression and suicide prevention entitled “Health Orientation on Problems from Emotional Stress (HOPE V).”

HOPE V, themed “Mental Health in an Unequal World,” is a 2-part webinar series that will be held via video conferencing and livestreamed on Facebook at 9 AM on Oct. 25 and 29.

UPLB’s “Sandigan, Sandalan” is an offshoot of “Sandigan, Sandalan: Training and Advocacy Programs for Mental Health” of the UP Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Office of Student Financial Assistance (OVPAA-OSFA).

It aims to equip students with knowledge and skills on peer mental health support and advocacy to contribute and uphold the welfare and well-being of their fellow students.

The BHLMP aims to build the capacity of the barangay health leaders in strengthening their local health system, promoting community participation and empowerment, and contributing to better health outcomes of the municipality. 

The training was organized by the Dumalag municipal government  led by Mayor Amado Eriberto V. Castro, Jr., Dr. Ana Mae F. Belasoto, the Municipal Health Officer, and Mr. Juan Faduga, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator.

In light of the government’s thrust to promote urban farming, the Department of Agriculture (DA) on Wednesday unveiled the Urban Agri Hydro Hub Learning Center at The Pop Up Katipunan in Quezon City.

“This launching serves as our first step in reaching our goal. Today, we established our country’s first urban farming hydroponic research and training facility to overcome food shortages and heal hunger in the Philippines,” Agriculture Secretary William Dar said in his speech.

The project is a collaboration of the DA, the Philippine Association of Agriculturists Inc. (PAA), University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman Institute of Biology, and The Freshest.
