UPLB CARES hopes to encourage individuals, alumni, groups, or organizations to support UPLB students in their remote learning needs by becoming a donor. Interested donors have five donation packages to choose from: Package A covers Internet subsidy only which can be paid monthly or in lump sum. This amounts to Php 2,000 per month load and a pocket Wi-Fi. Package B covers one-time gadget only donation ranging from Php 20,000 to Php 30,000 for laptop purchase with specifications good for Office applications and web conferencing or a tablet with the same specifications or with peripherals like bluetooth keyboard. Package C covers a combination of Packages A and B, internet and gadget, Package D covers financial assistance of any amount, and Package E covers donation of actual gadgets or laptops.

The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) developed the Learning Management System (LMS) as its new platform for remote learning.
A team of IT experts led by Prof. Nilo Araneta developed the LMS in two months. The project, which costs Php 345,000, was under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

In anticipation of the damaging winds and strong rains that Typhoon Rolly will bring to the campus, Chancellor Jose V. Camacho, Jr. designated Baker Hall as evacuation center for UPLB staff residing in over 200 staff housing facilities in the campus.
The UPLB Gender Center (UPLB-GC) led the university’s participation in this year’s Pride Month through “GendER Episode 6: Breaking stereotypes, celebrating pride,” a Facebook live webinar held on Oct. 23 that discussed the plight that LGBT+ individuals face when dealing with gender biases.
The webinar’s guest speakers had several things in common – both are UP alumni, are members and advocates of the LGBT+ community, and had served as hosts of Out!, a magazine program that aired on GMA-7 in 2004, which tackled the life and issues of the LGBT+ community.

The Faculty of Management and Development Studies (FMDS) Research and Publication Committee (RPC) held its first online Research Forum live-streamed via the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) Networks on 22 October 2020, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
The Research Forum featured selected studies of students from the different programs of UPOU FMDS. The studies cover a wide range of topics from student mobility in the ASEAN region, nursing work environment, public green spaces, health promotion, and status of research in higher education institutions (HEIs).
UP Mindanao hosted the online forum and consultation on “Bridging the Health Care Gaps In Mindanao” on 14 October 2020 for some 96 or more public health personnel, guests, and university constituents who attended through teleconferencing and social media platforms. The forum consultation is part of the plan to establish a UP Mindanao College of Medicine.
