After a series of productive and engaging activities, the UPV Sibika Hub ended its year-long advocacy with a public service discussion last May 27, 2023 at the GCEB Training room, where the student leaders coming from different high schools participated.
The University of the Philippines Visayas, through the Ugnayan ng Pahinungod/Oblation Corps (UP/OC), will be launching the Animal Care Program (ACP) this coming June. The program intends to address animal cruelty in the stray animal population of UPV campuses.
After the COVID-19 pandemic hiatus, the University of the Philippines Ichthyophilic Society (UPIS) resumed its Medical, Dental, and Circumcision Mission (MDCM) on its sixth year with the theme, “Maayo nga panglawason, ibugsay sa sini ng misyon,” extending free healthcare services to 368 beneficiaries from six coastal barangays in Miagao last Saturday, May 6, at the UPV Covered Court.

The UP Visayas alumni, through the Office of Alumni Relations, sent donations to the Municipality of Caluya to assist in the response efforts of the municipality in the mitigation of the MT Empress Princess Oil Spill in the island municipality located in the northen part of the province of Antique last week of February 2023.
Chancellor Clement C. Camposano constituted a task force to respond to the oil spill that happened in Tablas Strait last Feb. 28, 2023, after a vessel known as MT Princess Empress carrying 800,000 liters of oil sank.
Experts from the Institute of Aquaculture (IA), UPV-CFOS, namely IA director Prof. Dr. Rex Ferdinand M. Traifalgar, Asst. Prof. Dr. Carmelo del Castillo, and Mr. Fredson Huervana had a consultative meeting with members of the Barangay Dos Talabahan Owners Association (BDTOA) from Ilog, Negros Occidental last February 4, 2023. BDTOA is an association of oyster farmers with 37 members.
The UPV Action Research Project (UPV ARP), in collaboration with the Department of Education – Schools Division of Silay City (DepEd – SDO Silay City), conducted an Orientation-Workshop on Assessment Strategies, Innovation and Research Development among Junior High School (JHS) teachers teaching Science, Mathematics, Araling Panlipunan, and Technology and Livelihood Education subjects on 12-13 January 2023 at Natures Village Resort, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
